Hi. I have a Sony VGN-FZ430E laptop. The hard drive failed while under warranty and there went my recovery partition. I was told I would have to buy a new Vista CD. Well, since I never like Vista much anyways I downgraded to XP Home SP3. Apparently Sony does not support downgrading the OS and will not supply drivers.

Update Drivers For Mac
I am having problems getting the High Definition audio and modem drivers working. It appears this laptop is equipped with a Conexant modem and Sigmatel Audio. I have searched for comparable XP drivers from Dell, Gateway, etc. I found some, but I do not know if they are correct. Sony's documentation on this model is extremely lacking. The only way I knew the laptop has Conexant and Sigmatel hardware is in the Vista driver description.
Brother Printer Drivers For Mac
The first go around I got the modem drivers working but the only way was to 'force' the driver installation. Using the driver install program would result in a failure each time I tried it. After 'forcing' the driver install I could query the modem through modem diagnostics and received an AT string reply. The audio drivers I could not get working no matter what I tried. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MS UAA drivers, etc. The sigmatel installation program terminates with the following error: Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again. This makes it sound as if the hardware is not present or malfunctioning, but I can force the system to make beeps while in the BIOS setup utility. Since I doubt it has a separate speaker on the mainboard the sound hardware appears to be working.I formatted and tried again, reinstalling the MS UAA drivers, then the audio and I still can not get the drivers to install. I am stuck at this point. Any help with getting a resolution to this?
Thanks
